We have 70 years combined experience of supervision, teaching and researching in behaviour change at the University level. This includes supervising more than 200 clinical psychologists, behaviour analysts, and Masters and PhD researchers. Our expertise in teaching includes teaching people what behaviour analysis is and how to apply it, what assessments (including functional behaviour assessment and psychological assessment) involve and how to do them. Our emphasis in behaviour change is on understanding the behaviour and the use of research-based positive practices to bring about valued change. We have experience of consulting with individuals and organisations nationally and internationally. Beyond this we have 40 years of internationally recognised research in these areas.
Recently we have been involved in both training and supervising practitioners who are working with families who need help with their children’s behaviour, working from a behavioural perspective. Some of this work has been for people and organisations outside of New Zealand, giving us extensive experience using remote contact via the internet and other technologies e.g., instant messaging, remote training and video conferencing.
